Members Of Greensky Bluegrass Aid Todd-Less Railroad Earth In Aspen

Over the past two nights Railroad Earth played the Belly Up in Aspen, Colorado without frontman Todd Sheaffer. Todd is recovering from an illness, but the band decided to proceed with the shows in his absence. Last night RRE recruited Anders Beck and Paul Hoffman of Greensky Bluegrass to sit-in on portions of both sets as part of a cover-heavy performance.

After opening Monday night’s performance with “Magic Foot” > “Luxury Liner,” the members of Railroad Earth sans Sheaffer delivered the RRE debut of Bob Dylan’s “Only A Hobo.” Next up was the first performance of bassist Andrew Altman’s “All Around The World.” Later in the set, Hoffman and Beck emerged for takes on “Reuben’s Train,” “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You,” “1759” and “Walk Beside Me.” “Tonight I’ll Be Staying Here With You” by Bob Dylan was a cover debut.
