Jon Fishman Guests With Portland Band To Stump For Bernie Sanders

Phish drummer Jon Fishman recently told a crowd in Portland, Maine that Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders was the first politician he publicly supported. Fish continued that support last night at Portland’s Bayside Bowl, where he joined local favorites Dominic & The Lucid for a surprise show to stump for Sanders.

Hundreds jammed into the Bayside Bowl to hear Fish team with the Portland-based band on a mix of covers and Dominic & The Lucid originals. Jon was behind the kit for such covers as Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House,” “Sound & Vision” by David Bowie, the Motown classic (popularized by The Band) “Don’t Do It” and John Lennon’s “Instant Karma.” The Velvet Underground’s “Rock & Roll” was the only song from last night’s set Phish regularly plays.
