In January, Eagles founding member Glenn Frey died at age 67. His band mates paid tribute to the guitarist with a performance of “Take It Easy” accompanied by Jackson Browne at this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony. According to fellow founding Eagles member Don Henley, the Grammys performance was also the last one for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame group.
“It’s been a great loss for a lot of us, and we’re still trying to cope with it,” Henley told BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo regarding Frey’s passing. He went on to describe the Grammys performance as very difficult, revealing it was almost too emotionally overwhelming to the point it came close to being scrapped.
