Umphrey’s McGee Goes Acoustic For Led Zeppelin Cover Bust Out

Prog-jammers Umphrey’s McGee continued their national tour with TAUK last night at the historic Fox Theater in Oakland. The performance included a segment featuring guitarists Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss on acoustics that contained a huge bust out.

Umphrey’s opened the night with the instrumental “You Got The Wrong Guy” ahead of one of their newest originals, “Speak Up.” In typical fashion, UM moved from dark to light with swiftness in connecting “JaJunk” and “Hajimemashite.” Later in the set, Cinninger and Bayliss dusted off their acoustics for a three-song segment of “Susanah,” “Bron-Yr-Aur” and “Gone For Good.” “Bron-Yr-Aur” was performed by just Jake and Brendan and marked the return of the rare Led Zeppelin cover for the first time since April 2, 2008 – a span of 879 shows.
