This fall, Icelandic trio Sigur Ros will head out on a just-confirmed tour of North America. The month-long stretch of intimate theater shows will feature no opening acts and the band performing two sets.
Jón Þór “Jonsi” Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason will make 17 stops starting on September 19 at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia. The tour will see the band performing without any accompaniment, foregoing the string and brass sections augmenting recent concerts. It will also mark the first time since the tour prior to the release of 2002’s () that the group will perform new material before recording the songs for a new album.
